A Rich Legacy
Pepe’s was founded in 1962 by three brothers—Joe, Tony, and Fred—with a simple dream: to serve high-quality Mexican food made from cherished family recipes. What started as a small restaurant quickly became a local favorite, thanks to bold flavors, generous portions, and the warmth that only a family-run kitchen can provide.
They named the restaurant after their nephew, affectionately called “Pepe,” who was serving in Vietnam at the time. That name became a symbol of family, resilience, and heart—values that still guide everything we do today.
Over the years, Pepe’s has grown from that single kitchen to multiple locations across Los Angeles, Orange County, and the San Gabriel Valley. While we’ve expanded, one thing has never changed: our commitment to authentic, made-from-scratch food served with pride.

We believe great food brings people together. That’s why every plate at Pepe’s is made with fresh ingredients, bold seasoning, and real care. Whether you’re dining in with family, grabbing takeout after work, or ordering online for a cozy night in, you’ll always get the same quality and flavor we’ve been known for since day one.
